The second annual International Day of the Girl is TODAY, October 11, 2013. You are invited to celebrate with Kabissa's newest member organization, Girl Rising, who are helping to organize celebration events around the world (200 already planned in Africa!) throughout the month of October.
This year's theme is girls' education, and it's not too late to plan an event of your own. You can show a portion of the Girl Rising film, or hold a house party, discussion, or volunteer day. There are a number of great tools like save the dates, invitations, and promotional videos available online through the Girl Rising toolkit once you register, helping to make any event you choose to host a great success.

It was a huge success, with more than 2,000 Girl Rising events in over 150 countries – from screenings, to art exhibits to talent shows.
